The idea of the Business Symposium emerged from the students’ belief in the importance of their role to refine the student's personality and in order to educate them on issues and contemporary events. The Business Symposium is one of the first of its kind of all universities in Bahrain, most notably at the level of the Gulf in terms of attractiveness to specialists from the highly experienced to review aspects of the world economy and business management. The Symposium this year, carrying the title "The Economies of the Gulf.. Vision and Challenges" and will be held on 22-24 December 2009. The most important objectives for the Symposium include: • Educate students and achieve the maximum possible benefit; • Promote economic integration among the Gulf States to find mechanisms to ensure linking the interests of each country’s economic interest; • Search for the best ways to restructure the Gulf, thus ensuring its openness to the global economy; • Be parallel to contemporary events and issues. • promote the spirit of participation and exchange of experiences among university students from all over the Gulf. The Symposium will address different topics, such as: • Gulf economies in the light of the global crisis: This theme defines the basic pillars of the economies of the Gulf and their most important components, as well as the implications of the economic crisis and its impact in accelerating the launch of the united Gulf currency • The energy sector and oil: This theme highlights the foundation of oil pricing and the factors affecting it and the effects of correlation pricing in U.S. dollars. It also draws attention to the future of the Gulf after the depletion of oil • Bahrain 2030: This theme emphasizes on the economic vision for Bahrain in 2030, and the role of the different sectors in their implementation, and to the products of the investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Bahrain Registration started on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 up to Thursday, December 13, 2009. The registration fees were BD3 for students at the University of Bahrain, BD5 for students of private universities, and BD10 for employees. Important Notes for registration: • Please keep the receipt with you to show it on the first day of the symposium in exchange for a card to participate and complete the registration process. • You cannot participate only with balance card stamped. • You need to show the participation card for the certificate.
